Do you make these affiliate marketing mistakes?
If so, check this out...
A lifetime ago, I aspired to join the ranks of pro bodybuilders. I bought a weigh set and started working out at home. My mom was not thrilled. About a year later, I convinced her to let me join a gym.
Despite having worked out for a year, I did not make much progress. It occurred to me something was wrong. Instead of continuing on my path of ignorance I bought a book on bodybuilding. Reading that book was an eye-opener.
For one thing, I found out I was grossly over-trained. Most natural bodybuilders can't use the same routines the "juice heads" use. I didn't know that when I started out. As a result, I wasted a lot of time on things that did not work.
This is what I found out...
Here then are the five mistakes most beginning affiliate marketers make...
Another big mistake is not building a list. You can send people to your affiliate link directly. You are better off getting them to join a list. Like an ezine list on the topic they are interested in. Once you have them on a list work it. Send out good info and promotional stuff.
Not collecting emails is another dumb mistake. The way to build a profitable business is to have a list. The list becomes your most important asset. Compile both a prospect list and a customer list. Work them both for increased profits.
Mistake #3: Not pitching enough. For some reason, a lot of Internet marketers feel you should give away the barn. Not so. Yes, emailing valuable information to your list is important. The real juicy stuff ought to be sold. After all, if you don't send out enough sales messages you'll be out of business. One pitch a week is a good number to work with.
Mistake #4: Not selling high-priced products. The fact is it takes just as much time and effort to sell a high priced product as a low priced one. In terms of return on investment, it makes sense to sell more high priced stuff. You'll make more money.
Mistake #5: Not collecting snail mail addresses. This one is a biggie. Did you know direct mail is about ten times more responsive than email? A smart way to use direct mail is to send out postcards driving people to a lead capture page online. Then sending out emails about an affiliate product.
By avoiding the mistakes above you'll make more money as an affiliate marketer.
