You may have heard of body wraps before, perhaps from your beauty technician at your day spa or online research. They are a popular technique used often at spas to make the skin more tight and firm, and can also be used in the case of cellulite removal. They are a great may to firm up the body and get rid of toxins from the skin.

Undergoing a body wrap is a simple procedure. A trained therapist takes elastic cloth or seaweed and soaks them in a range of different minerals that promote detoxification and fat loss. These cloths are then wrapped on the body where the cellulite exists. Sometimes the cloth or seaweed is heated so that you sweat out the toxins.

The ingredients that the cloths or seaweed are soaked in can include exfoliate, mud masques, massage oil, anti-stress oil or cellulite cream. Other natural products include seaweed extract and coffee.

Body wrapping is popular among women and beauty therapists, with many clients saying that their treatment resulted in a diminished cellulite appearance, a firmer body and softer skin. Of course, body wraps can have other positive benefits too. People find the process of being in a body wrap to be a pleasant and relaxing experience.

Having a body wrap done can cost between $100 and $300, and so it can add up if you get the treatment done regularly. Lately, many people have been using home body wrapping kits which is a cheaper alternative. There are many kits available including those that are designed to target cellulite directly by including anti-cellulite gel, lotions and creams.

If the aim of having a body wrap done is to reduce the appearance of cellulite, then you should also combine the wrap with other forms of treatment. Such cellulite treatments can include (but are not limited to) massage and creams, exercise and diet changes, and body detox. Your spa beauty therapist will have more information on these treatments.

While body wraps sound like a wonderful treatment for cellulite, there is one major downside. The results of the wrap don't last. This means you will be required to have the wraps done on an ongoing basis in order to keep the cellulite reduction. The cost can therefore add up over the long term and you may want to investigate the home option.
