Sometimes big problems just need simple solutions. Isn't that great? According to the latest research, there is a very simple solution that can help in the prevention of juvenile diabetes for children all over the world ? and this simple solution is known as salmon!

Research conducted by the Norwegian Institute of Health reveals that children who were given cod liver oil (relax, I'll talk about salmon later) while they were still very young, are at 25% lesser at risk to juvenile diabetes; quite a significant number. The result of this research was viewed as very important that it was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Based on the scientific studies, the anti inflammatory properties of omega 3 fatty acids that is found in some fishes, contains high amounts of EPA and DHA and is believed to be the one doing wonders. I bet you'll say that was a mouthful, but it does work wonders. And what is the excellent source of EPA and DHA? Salmon. (This is what I told you that I'll get to salmon!)

In the two types of diabetes ? type 1 and type 2, the body is not able to produce insulin or store glucose properly thus, causing problems in the blood sugar. The type 2 diabetes is often seen amongst adults. But lately, because more and more people are developing bad health habits and poor lifestyle, children are also getting the type 2 diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes usually starts during childhood and adolescence. The normal production of insulin is interrupted and a patient will then require daily injections of insulin. Long term dependence on insulin injections can have side effects. Fifteen years from the onset, more than 80% experience major eye damage. Others can have kidney failure and may need dialysis to survive. Before they even reach mid-fifties, around 35% of juvenile diabetics may die of heart attack.

It can really be remarkable how omega 3 fish can save lives of diabetics. Years ago, research has already begun proving that EPA and DHA can give lots of health benefits including the management of type 2 diabetes. The latest research however reveals that it can also be used for type 1 diabetes. It can make you so happy that you may want to kiss a fish.(Or on second thought!)

Salmon that is found in the unpolluted Arctic Ocean waters seems to be the greatest source for fish oil. EPA and DHA are derived from cold water fish, such as cod and salmon. The anti-inflammatory properties of omega 3 in fish oil is aid to be the one that helps prevent type 1 diabetes, since it is commonly caused by an autoimmune disease.

Pregnant and lactating mothers are advised to take pure fish oil, to assure that their children get life-long health benefits. EPA and DHA can improve the baby's nervous system, hearing and vision. The development of baby's brain is also enhanced with omega 3 fish oil.

Thus if you want to see your children grow up to be smart, strong and healthy, I highly recommend that you make sure you and your family include cold water fish and high doses of omega 3 salmon oil capsules to your daily diet.
