Among the possible herbal options are:

-Nettle- On top of the list is stinging nettle. This herb works a lot like NSAIDs. It can reduce inflammation due to its anti inflammatory contents. Boron is also a nutrient that can be found in this herb. You can benefit from the relieving properties of nettle by drinking it as tea or by eating it.

-Devil's Claw- Its name is actually derived from the appearance of its fruits that look much like claws. This is a herb found in Africa and is prized for its pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also believed to help improve the joint movement of arthritic patients.

-Ginger- If you love the taste of ginger, you will love it even more for its anti-inflammatory properties. It can also help reduce the sensation of pain. -Celery- This is another herb mixed with food that can be good for arthritis. That is probably what early Europeans probably discovered when they started using this herb. The herb can reduce inflammation. It also has potassium which is a beneficial nutrient for people with arthritis.

-Red Pepper- It is common knowledge that red pepper has pain relieving properties. It is therefore considered one of the best herbs for arthritis. As some would already know, it is the capsaicin in red pepper that interferes with how people perceive pain. The substance also causes the generation and release of more endorphins. One other beneficial substance in red pepper is salicylate. Aspirin contains this substance.

-Alfalfa- The major contribution of this herb to arthritis relief is its nourishing nutrient content. It also serves to minimize the retention of fluid. It is recommended that arthritic patients take this herb in tea form. Alfalfa powder may increase arthritis symptoms.

-Angelica- This is another species for what is also known as dong quai. For centuries, this herb has been taken as a form of tea to help relieve swelling and pain.

Although many people swear by the benefits of natural arthritis relief options, it is still important to be careful with the use of herbs. Some herbs may interact with medications that you may be taking for arthritis or some other medical condition.
